Sophia Sokolowski
Partner, Global Markets & Government AffairsSophia Sokolowski is based in Brussels, Belgium, and leverages her multidisciplinary background in science, regulatory policy and international affairs to advise clients building relationships and navigating pivotal decisions and geopolitical risk.
With experience spanning three presidential administrations, Sophia most recently served as Special Assistant to President Joe Biden and as Senior Advisor for the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, where she directed White House engagement and crisis response efforts to local governments and drove interagency collaboration across federal departments. Prior, she was Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, where she led outreach to state, local, tribal and territorial governments and informed initiatives, like the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council, through strategic communications. Sophia first joined then-Vice President Biden’s team in 2016 for the White House Cancer Moonshot, moving on to work for the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware and the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, before assuming foreign and domestic policy roles on his 2020 presidential campaign. She also served as the Cancer Research Training Awardee on the President’s Cancer Panel at the National Cancer Institute and as a Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute Fellow for the National Democratic Institute.
A former TEDx speaker, published science author and award winner, and podcast host, Sophia’s passion for public service and worldwide enhancement extends to the universal language of music, having performed with Opera Tampa under the direction of Maestro Anton Coppola for seven years.
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Sophia received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Wellesley College and her Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
